About me.....
I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a member of the BACP who works with adults and young people on a 1:1 basis.
I work from a pluralistic perspective, I believe that when life gets hard, different people need different things at different times to help. I do not fully commit to one school of thinking when it comes to therapy.

In my counselling work to date I have supported a range of individuals through their challenges regarding: change, transitions, anxiety, low mood, recent health diagnoses', grief and loss, gender and sexuality, cultural differences, caring responsibilities, societal expectations, and many others.

What helps one person may not necessarily help another.
My story...
I come from a background in education, having worked in schools throughout Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, supporting young people and their families through significant life challenges.

A growing concern and frustration with the school system and the lack of available support for those in need, coupled with a desire to upskill and improve myself led me to exploring the world of counselling and therapy.

After 3 years of training I set up a private practice and welcome clients to my small garden room on the farm. Alongside welcoming private clients, I also work for MYPAS offering counselling to young people in Midlothian.

I also receive counselling referrals from the RSABI, supporting those within the agricultural industry.
Please see their website for more info: Counselling - RSABI
When I'm not working....
I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with animals, especially horses!

The four boys live here on the farm, from left to right... Robin, Flynn, Hector & Peanut.

Science has evidenced that time in nature is beneficial for our wellbeing and mood.
My ethos...
I firmly believe that you are the person who knows yourself best, even if you currently feel a little lost.

I can listen, offer understanding and acceptance and work with you to get back in touch with yourself.
Working together to empower you to find your next step.
Partially subsidised counselling...
I don't believe that financial hardship should be a barrier to getting help. I hold a small fund whereby sessions can be partially subsidised to enable a small number of clients to pay only what they can afford. Please get in touch if this is something you would like to discuss.

Please note there is limited funding available, I will do my best to meet your needs!

Donations
I'm committed to working with what people can afford, therefore I keep a small fund to help provide counselling on a subsidised basis for those who cannot pay the full cost.

If you would like to help others by providing a donation, however large or small, to this fund please do get in touch. Or you can use the donate button on this page to make a donation.
